Who are we

We are a team of experienced developers and builders based out of Brisbane. Jim and Mick have been working together for over 20 years and as both licenced QBCC Open Class Builders, they bring extensive experience and professionalism to each project.

The name JAM is an acronym for ‘Jim And Mick’ which was derived over a dinner many years ago.

We are dedicated to building, and passionate about development. We are meticulous with detail and focused on ensuring every development leaves a legacy that we will be proud of for many years.

Our Team

We are a team of dedicated developers and builders based out of Brisbane. While we can’t all use a shovel, we all know how to work together.

Jim Costello | Director

Jim has a diverse skill-set across property development, construction, resources, planning, consulting and finance. Jim has more than 20 years in the industry and holds an Honours degree in Construction Management, Post Graduate Degree in Property Economics and is a qualified open class builder. In 2012, Jim received the National Planning Award for Excellence for a study for the SEQ Council of Mayors. Prior to launching JAM, Jim worked across Australia, New York and the UK in senior positions with Lendlease, Springfield Land Corporation and MDEV where he delivered several high profile and technically challenging projects.

Michael Smith | Director

Michael is a qualified Building Professional holding a QBCC Open Builders Licence with 30 years on the ground carpentry, site management, project management and building experience. Prior to the establishment of JAM Group of Companies, Michael worked for one of Queensland’s most recognised boutique building and development firms, MDEV, where he held the position as Director of Construction. Michael has extensive experience in managing and controlling the site management of construction projects, building and design management, project management, detailed cost estimating and contract management. Michael has experience running high end residential new build projects, renovations, 10+ story residential and commercial towers, retail shopping centres and civil projects.

Wade Carter | Construction Manager

Wade has over 25+ years experience in the building industry and has honed his skills managing teams to deliver high-quality residential and commercial projects.

John Russell | General Manager

John is a qualified accountant, financial planner, mortgage broker, and licenced real estate agent. He now heads up our sales and marketing team ensuring everything is completed with quality and excellence. With over 15+ years experience building websites to selling property, his skills perfectly compliment the rest of the team.

LUKE NIELSEN | DEVELOPMENT CADET

Bevan O'Neill | CFO

Bevan is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has held senior positions with several top tier accounting firms prior to joining JAM Property Group. Bevan assists with the strategic direction of JAM Project Group, ensures all accounting, banking and finance requirements are achieved in a timely manner. Bevan plays an important role in the advisory division, to provide expert financial advice regarding project structuring, investment forecasts and feasibility advice on development projects.

They understood our budget and came up with solutions to ensure that we got an amazing finished product within our price range.

Our Process

A well designed and built project adds and maintains the assets value. This is one of our fundamental principles and why we focus a lot on the design process. We manage the build process through systems we have developed over many years and long term relationships we have developed with some of Brisbane’s leading subcontractors and consultants.

Plan

Development planning involves working with councils and town planning consultants to ensure our projects work synergistically with local planning schemes.

Design

Working with leading architectural firms ensures our clients are exposed to leading design principles and are at the forefront of architectural trends.

Build

With both directors licenced open class QBCC Builers, we are able to implement strict processes and controls to ensure that quality is at the forefront of every building project.
